I enjoyed this course because it helped me learn more about practical applications and examples of safety in the work place. Many of the assignments allowed me to think about what I would do in real life situations, and I believe that this helped prepare me for the problems I will face as a health and safety supervisor throughout my career. For example, the machine guards assignment forced me to determine the benefits and disadvantages of removing the guards in addition to the people that would be positively or negatively impacted by this decision. I believe this course could be improved if we are presented with more complex ethical situations that may have more than one answer. A longer class discussion could be used in order to answer the question so we can benefit from learning everyone’s opinion on the subject.
