How might your experiences, values, biases, and/or attitudes influence your ability to work professionally and effectively with these populations? These are important questions to consider as you continue to build your multicultural competencies as a forensic psychology professional.

This week, you reflect on personal challenges you might encounter when working with diverse populations at your field experience setting. Multicultural Competency

Forensic psychology professionals work with and serve diverse populations characterized by race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, language, and/or socioeconomic status. Most professionals, particularly those who have not been exposed to different cultures and/or groups, may initially find working with diverse populations challenging. In your field experience setting and in your future career as a forensic psychology professional, you also may encounter personal challenges related to working with diverse populations. As a result, it is important to anticipate and address these challenges as they arise. To anticipate challenges, you must reflect on how your own experiences, values, biases, and attitudes might impact your work with diverse populations. To address challenges, you must be aware of and integrate APA and AP-LS multicultural guidelines into your work with diverse populations.

Annotating Scholarly Resources

This week you continue to work on your Final Project due in Week 11. Searching for, identifying, and annotating scholarly resources builds a strong base for a comprehensive research paper. By now, you should have identified most of the resources you will utilize in your paper. As you continue to review the literature on your practical or scientific topic, go back to Week 1 and re-examine the research paper requirements. Doing so will help ensure you are choosing appropriate resources and fulfilling the requirements for the paper.

The assignment (1–2 pages):

Use the Walden Library, Internet, and other sources to research the practical or scientific topic you selected for your Final Project (Note-This topic was submitted to your instructor in Week 2 and you should have already received approval).

Cite and annotate two articles from peer-reviewed journals that you will use for your Final Project.
