Nurses have an important role in promoting public health. Previously, nurses’ health promotion activities were centered on preventing disease and changing public perceptions about their wellness. In this report, the role of the primary or community nurse in collaboration with statutory and voluntary agencies will be discussed. This report will highlight that how a nurse can bring positive outcomes while associating with this agency. Various statutory and voluntary agencies of Ireland will be discussed. The role of these agencies in the welfare of the community will also be included in this report. In this report, the role of primary nurse in bringing the healthy outcomes of health of the individuals in the community is highlighted. How a primary nurse along with the statutory and voluntary agencies can change the health conditions of the people in the community. This report will explore the history of nursing education about the people with intellectual disability. Analysis and discussion of the findings in the report to the relevant evidence/ policy will also be done.

The importance of learning disability nurses in achieving better health outcomes for the individuals with intellectual disabilities is becoming increasingly apparent.
