Case study

Background: Recently started an accelerated high school business program in Chicago, Illinois after growing up and living in New Orleans her whole life. Grew up with both parents and four brothers. Currently lives in on a specialty high school campus dormitory. Currently a full-time student and works part time in the local coffee shop. Not married, currently single. She has no previous psychiatric history; takes no medications. There is history of depression, denied substance use history for her or family. No legal hx NKDA

CC (chief complaint): “Over the past few weeks, I have been feeling sad, hopeless, and demotivated.”
History : TS, a 17-year-old female patient, presents to the clinic with the primary complaint of experiencing feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and lack of motivation for the past few weeks. Diagnosing Patients with Mood Disorders She mentions feeling irritable and frequently tearful. Additionally, she has noticed a decrease in her appetite and sleep disturbances. TS reports no having any thoughts of self-harm or harm to others. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and recently moved to Chicago, Illinois, to pursue an accelerated high school business program. Alongside her studies, she works part-time at a local coffee shop. TS currently resides in a dormitory on the campus of her specialty high school. She states that neither she nor any of her family members have received any mental health counseling or medications in the past. She reports no any substance use history for herself or her family. There are no known allergies or legal issues. TS reports no having any other current health concerns.
