Ethno-Cultural Psychiatry in Nursing Essay

The paper “Ethno-Cultural Psychiatry in Nursing” is an exceptional example of an essay on nursing. Mental illness can affect people from all races, cultures, and ages as well as social settings. The prevalence of mental problems is also varying from one culture to the other. This research will focus on investigating the mental illness issues that arise along ethnocultural lines. Most importantly the role played by different cultures in the cultural settings that influence mental health and wellbeing will also be studied. Ethno-Cultural Psychiatry in Nursing Essay. With the exponential rise of globalization then it means that nurses are encountering issues while trying to take care of patients who emanate from various cultural backgrounds (Pilgrim, In Pescosolido, & In Rogers, 2011). As such the results of the study will be analyzed and recommendations are given on how effectively the issues that have been rising in ethnocultural psychiatry especially from the perspective of the nurses can be solved. As Pilgrim et al., shows the dimensions of culture have a role to play in mental health and well being. Our focus then would also be in the factors that aggravate mental illness in people from different cultural backgrounds and groups. The aim of the research is to look at how mental illness varies across cultures. The design of the research will be through an integrated review of literature that offers knowledge and perspectives of mental illness along ethnocultural lines. The reason for choosing the integrated review which is not similar to systematic review per se is because research in this field has been done by most researchers and mine is to analyze their findings and come up with recommendations. The proposed method used in generating information will be through comparison of results from both primary and secondary sources. The electronic databases such as MEDline, PUB med, and NCBI among others shall be included. After getting the information the results shall be analyzed critically after which a clear and concise conclusion with recommendations shall be given at the end of the analysis.
