According to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, delayed ejaculation disorder is the sexual disorder where the man is not able to ejaculate while having sex, particularly after 25-30 minutes of continuous sexual stimulation (American Psychiatric Association, 2014). On the other hand, paraphilic disorders refer to continuous, strong, and sexually stimulating fantasies, desires, and behaviors that can be very disabling; paraphilic disorders normally involve children, non-consenting adults, objects,  as well as the individual humiliating or causing harm to themselves or their partners during sexual events (Krueger et al, 2017). The diagnostic features of delayed ejaculation disorder include the inability to reach climax during sex for around 75-100% of the time; symptoms of delayed ejaculation lasting for a minimum of six months; symptoms result to significant distress; delayed ejaculation is attributable to other causes such as medication use, medical issues, stressors or mental disorders. On the hand, the diagnostic criteria of paraphilic disorders include symptoms such as persistent strong sexual fantasies and urges and behaviors that involve children, objects, non-consenting adults, and imposing pain or suffering to oneself or the sexual partner (American Psychiatric Association, 2014).  Just like in delayed ejaculation disorder, the symptoms cause significant distress to the individual.
